What do you get if you merge all-day brunch with dim sum? You get all-day dim sum! Yup, thats what it is with Dim Joy, which serves Cantonese dim sum all day, from breakfast, to dinner.
old-school letterbox
Vegetable dumplings ($3)
King Shrimp Har Gao ($4)
Herbal Phoenix Talons ($3)
Pan-fried radish cake ($3)
Custard Bun ($3)
Dried scallop congee ($2)
Savoury Beancurd skin roll ($4.50)
Durian Snow Pearl ($5.50)
As a whole, the dim sum items are average-tasting...the prawns(3 shrimps in each piece, to be exact) used in the har gao are succulent, but the skin gets cold and sticky easily....the phoenix claws(although i only tried the sauce, not the claws) is something different from those traditional red-coloured ones, as it is braised in a herbal-like sauce...the beancurd skin roll was disappointing...but the durian snow pearl was very interesting...imagine pure durian meat (not those processed ones), encassed in a soft and light mousse, before finally wrapped in a think layer of glutinous-like skin...you do not need to have teeth to enjoy this!
I might not come back specially for the dim sum, but i be back to try the congee/noodles with their cooked food items, and definitely their osmanthus green tea jelly, which was sold out when i was there...
